Firefox just keeps getting better

So I go looking for some new Firefox extensions today, and I found a funky little one called Sage. Sage is basically an RSS aggregator which embeds itself into the Mozilla sidebar (where the “Favourites” live, for all you IE users).

You tell Sage the RSS feeds you want it to grab (such as this one), and like any good aggregator, it grabs them and… well… aggregates them (and we all know that aggregates are really great). When I want to check if any of the sites I frequent have been updated, I switch from my bookmarks sidebar to the Sage sidebar. Then, I click the “Check Feeds” button and it highlights ones with new posts. Simple.

Hopefully, someone will soon develop a killer extension that will cause people to realise how crappy IE is (since I still feel like discussing this topic — it being my website and all). I mean, I’m now using the All-In-One Gestures extension to control most browser functionality, the Web Developer extension to check/create websites at both home and work, and now I’ll add Sage to the list.

In addition, the browser has a search bar which can be customised with almost any search site (I currently have Google, Astalavista, IMDB, IRC Spy, Packetnews, Rotten Tomatoes, TV Tome, Mirriam-Webster and Wikipedia (a free online encyclopedia) search functionality right from the browser toolbar, I don’t have to go to any arbitrary website to get this functionality, it’s all here right now.

I don’t see why anyone would want to continue using IE if they had a choice.
