Saturday morning, I was woken by Justine who was much too eager for a Saturday morning. She wanted to give me birthday presents, and who am I to disappoint?

I quickly opened some gifts, which included a bottle of Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon before we made our way down to the Pancake Parlour for a quick breakfast before Justine rushed off to work.

Later in the afternoon, we caught up with Dad, Cheryl, Chris and Mel; we gave Dad some gifts and I was again showered with gifts which I have decided should happen a lot more often. Perhaps there should be some sort of monthly celebration where I am given gifts.

We all went out for dinner at the Marine Hotel in Brighton. My food was a little disappointing but the others seemed to enjoy theirs so perhaps I chose the wrong item. Adjourning back to Dad’s place, we played a few rounds of Texas Hold’em; as our skill and knowledge progresses, the games we play are beginning to become a lot more competitive even though real money isn’t involved.

Not hectic, just a nice relaxed birthday. Very nice. And to those who wished me a happy birthday, whether by SMS, phone (after being reminded by Justine), blog or in person, thank you… again!

I mean, really, really nice. I especially liked the squab, he didn't put up a fight.
