The one where we drove in circles

October 27th, 2006 - 11:48pm

This will be the last in the Friends-esque “the one” series; it’s been a week, that’s long enough for the point to get across I’m sure.

Tonight, I drove into the city to pick up Justine after school. I drove in about an hour early with the intention of taking some photos, which I haven’t really done for a while now, but I only managed around 15 before the battery on my camera went flat, oops!

I walked back to the car parking spot, and drove over to the other side of the CBD to meet up with Justine. I waited for a few minutes, Justine arrived and got in the car, and we drove back over to the other side of the CBD as we both wanted Wagamama for dinner.

We drove around the block a couple of times, and didn’t find any parking spot whatsoever. OK, there’s another Wagamama in the new QV section; we drove around that block a few times still to no avail.. We gave up and started on our way home, when I made a spontaneous decision to go around the original block once again as we passed it.

We found a spot in under 10 seconds (it had originally been filled on our first passes) which was 30 seconds walk away. 20 minutes of driving paid off… sort of.

Wagamama eaten, we made our way home, but not before I stole $20 of someone’s petrol — the 7-11 near our house requires pre-payment at night which I didn’t see until I was already pumping. Thankfully the guy was good humoured about it all and we sorted it out quite easily.

And that’s the end of that chapter.
