While Justine prefers to flick and view whatever happens to be on TV, I much prefer concentrated, targeted viewing of programming that I am genuinely interested in seeing.
Justine doesn’t join me in watching Prison Break, Jericho, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Battlestar Galactica or Heroes, to name possibly half of the shows she won’t watch. That said, there are also a large number of shows we do watch together: Entourage, My Name is Earl, How I Met Your Mother are but some of the shows we watch together.
If we didn’t have near-instant, on-demand programming then this would probably be a very different story. If I had to tune in week-after-week, I doubt I’d bother with most of the shows I follow. Not because they aren’t worth it, but because now I’ve been so spoiled I can barely stand to watch the ads on cable TV, let alone Free-to-air.
