Our local Coles store has recently decided that they will stock kangaroo meat. What else could I do but buy a few for myself to try them out?

I’ve had kangaroo meat a few times before, so the taste wasn’t particularly new to me. Since I’d never cooked it though, I expected it would take roughly the same time as beef. Nope, it seemed to take quite a bit longer to get it to medium-rare (my desired cooked state) than with a beef steak of similar thickness.

Still, it tasted pretty good and I am interested to see what Coles starts stocking next… Whale? Dog? Crocodile (which I’ve had before, and is quite nice)? Of course, I could go to a “gourmet” butcher (or an asian one in the case of dog) but that’s no fun.

I mean, really, really nice. I especially liked the squab, he didn't put up a fight.
