Saturday evening rolled around, and Justine and I decided it might be fun to catch a movie. We went to TGI Fridays on Chapel St, and must have arrived early as we nabbed a great parking spot and had no wait for a table (which is pretty much the opposite of Chapel St on a Saturday night).

Justine had a massive Chicken BLT Burger (sans the bacon), and I had a delicious Chicken Quesadilla. Food was good, not too expensive and we didn’t have to wait long for it.

The whole meal took a bit less than we’d expected, which threw off our timing a little. We’d initially planned on seeing The Longest Yard but since we had to wait another 45 minutes before that started, we changed our minds and decided to see Mr and Mrs Smith.

In hindsight, based on the Rotten Tomatoes ratings, Mr and Mrs Smith was probably the better choice over The Longest Yard.

After having seen most of our recent films at Knox’s VMAX cinema, we were both surprised at the (lack of) size of the screen, as well as the whole cinema. Never mind, you forget about the screen size after a few minutes anyway.

The film was not too bad, the early stages are where it really shined; showing the everyday lives of the couple as well as the scenes where they began to realise one another’s true nature. Other than those scenes, which I really liked, the rest was just “meh”. Wouldn’t want it to have been on a larger screen, I may have been worried that Angelina Jolie’s lips would engulf the entire cinema.

I mean, really, really nice. I especially liked the squab, he didn't put up a fight.
