Hello again,

We are still here, going strong.  Since Marseille we have

  • Barcelona:
    • Eaten Paella
    • Eaten Churros
    • Seen the Sagrada Familia
    • Visited the Parc Guell (with the long Gaudi bench
  • Paris:
    • Climbed the Arc de Triopmhe
    • Visited Disneyland
    • Saw the Pantheon
    • Ascended to the top of the Notre Dame
  • London:
    • Seen the British Museum
    • Seen the Museum of London
    • Shopped at Harrods
    • Saw the inside of the Houses of Parliament
    • Decided not to see the inside of Westminster Abbey

That’s about the highlights for now.  I have been “plogging” so will catch up with the blogs when we return home.

Marseille, Le Vieux PortHello,

We’ve not had much time to blog recently as our only time in front of a computer has been booking hotels or figuring out where the hotels are.

From memory, we have done the following since Sep 2nd:

  • Rome:
    • Walked along the Appian Way
    • Visited the catacombs of Saint Sebastian
    • Eaten excellent gelati and biscuits
    • Eaten at a wine bar (yes, and had wine) while sitting on chairs in an alleyway, while traffic zipped past
    • Walked across a bridge from 62BC
  • Berne (Switzerland):
    • Saw the “Bear Pits”
    • Walked over a large old bridge with houses underneath the bridge
    • Eaten Swiss chocolate
  • Luzern:
    • Listened to an awful, awful brass band
    • At too much chocolate
    • Walked over yet another bridge, this time wooden and covered
  • Passed through Geneva
  • Lyon:
    • Climbed a massive set of stairs
    • Sat in a large Roman ampitheater
  • Marseille:
    • Saw the “old port”
    • Ate better gelati than Rome’s gelati (Venice and Pisa were good though)

That about brings us up to date. I will try to elaborate further when I can.
