The wishlist has been updated with a bunch of stuff we want. As Chris originally did, I arranged it according to price (though it doesn’t seem to be that way now; did it change or did I imagine you did it that way?).

More might be added prior to Christmas so if you are in the market for buying us crap and are stuck, check it out.

I was at work today, minding my own business, when what should turn up but a package from ThinkGeek with my name on it!

“I don’t remember ordering anything from ThinkGeek,” I thought. “I wonder if I ordered myself something good.”

And it turns out I did order something good. Well, sort of. It was Justine who’d ordered something good from my wishlist. It was a Shiny, Wind-Up Bender!

A couple of weeks back, on my birthday, we went looking for a present that never eventuated. Since I’d received something from Justine I told her not to get me anything else, and keep her money for a night out or something. Well, she obviously paid as much attention as usual. I took the Bender out and immediately wound him, and watched his shiny metal ass waddle across the table. Great stuff! You can even open his front and watch the gears turn.

Also in the box, mini Timmy the Sock Monkey had obviously stowed away for the ride. Well, too bad for him if he wants to go anywhere else, ’cause he’s here to stay now. The monkey is such a tiny little thing, he’ll fit right in my pocket!

The Wishlist has been updated accordingly. What a great surprise! Thank you, Justine; I’d completely forgotten about the Bender toy and it was nice to see him simply turn up. Justine’s usually pretty bad at keeping secrets (sorry, but you are!), but this one was kept well. I had no idea anything was coming. Actually, that’s not totally true; you let something slip but I didn’t have a clue what it was.

I think I need to start adding more random stuff to my wishlist, most of the things remaining are getting a bit expensive (c’mon, you know you want to spend $500+ on me — the bronze Gandalfs were only six grand, what a bargain!).

It’s again time for me to put out a list of stuff I’d like. Since most of the stuff on my wishlist was quite expensive, I’ve tried to add a few cheaper things, though haven’t really come up with much.

I’ve probably left the run a bit late, though, since the people who read this site and were going to purchase me something for my impending birthday have probably already bought whatever it is they’ve bought.

Of note to this round’s additions are the Bathsheba Grossman sculptures and the Eboy Poster.

So, here’s the wishlist!

Oh yeah, I forgot to add that I’ve made some minor website-related changes.

On the right, there’s a recent posts section which shows the most recent posts after the ones that appear on the main page. Further down, there’s a permanent link to the wishlist and also one to the webcam pointing out the window, down our driveway. Except for when it falls down, then it’s not. Then it points at the roof, or equally interesting subject.

Not particularly exciting, but there you go.

Since it’s that time of year, and I’m being asked the same questions as usual, I am again proud to present my wishlist!

Justine’s is there too.

I don’t usually get too many presents for my birthday, since I don’t exactly have a huge family. It’s never bothered me because it’s always been that way. All I want right now — since I don’t have any major needs, and most of the stuff I really want is damned expensive — is for people to wish me a happy birthday, and if they want, get me a well-thought-out gift (or one I have prepared earlier, if you don’t want to think about it).

Here is what I have currently received this year:

• A Royal Selangor Chinese Dragon
• A bottle of fine Woodford Reserve bourbon (bottle 7840 from batch 4)
• The Simpsons - Season 3 DVD
• A piece of paper with a monetary value attached (commonly called a “gift voucher”); redeemable at Sanity music stores
• Another piece of paper with a monetary value attached. This time, it’s redeemable at JB Hi-Fi stores
• A picnic rug
• A picnic set, contained within a backpack
• A nice big blanket thing
• An Atlas pasta maker
• A Simpsons photomosaic puzzle

I will update this list as more things arrive.

Certain people have mentioned they are having trouble deciding on presents for my birthday. Personally, I don’t care what the present is, as long as it’s thoughtful. Although I love stuff, I can really live without more so don’t feel like you’re compelled to get me anything.
